Aaron Kouhoupt Returns to McGlinchey as Member in Consumer Financial Services Compliance Group
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey is pleased to announce that Aaron Kouhoupt has rejoined the firm as a Member (Partner) in the national Consumer Financial Services Compliance practice group. Aaron focuses on advising traditional banks as well as fintech start-ups navigating the federal regulatory regime surrounding bank partnership programs and launching consumer finance products on a national scale.

Aaron returns to McGlinchey after serving as Head of Compliance and U.S. Legal for Curve, a digital payments company, for which he will continue to provide legal counsel. He also has experience working in house at various financial institutions, including traditional banks, a peer-to-peer lending and alternative investing company, and with a European company launching a U.S. consumer finance product.

Aaron regularly advises clients on matters involving the Banking Secrecy Act (BSA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA)/Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) Integrated Disclosure (TRID), State Banking Regulation and Legalized Marijuana, the Military Lending Act, and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA).

Aaron received his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden in 2004. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science and government in 2001 from University of Maine at Presque Isle.
In the past six months, McGlinchey’s Consumer Financial Services Compliance team has added eight new attorneys (including two Members) in five offices: Albany, Cleveland, Houston, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C.
