Ferachi to Serve Second Term as McGlinchey’s Managing Member
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2024, Michael Ferachi has been elected to serve a second three-year term as the firm’s Managing Member.
“I am proud of the progress the firm made during my first term, ranging from growing our employee headcount and geographic footprint to expanding our practice areas, investing in firm resources, and developing of our workplace culture,” Michael said. “Kicking off McGlinchey’s fiftieth year, I look forward to maintaining and building on those successes.”
Accomplishments from Michael’s first term include:
- exponentially increasing attorney headcount, opening 2 new offices, and growing in target industries and cities
- reorganizing practice groups and office administration
- appointing a Chief Diversity Officer and achieving Midsize Mansfield certification
- guiding operations through the fall-out of/recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, including the establishment of a remote work policy
- launching firm culture initiatives such as the Ministry of Fun and Wellness Works
When he became Managing Member in 2021, Michael established the #McGlincheyForward initiative, which focused on positive change through continued growth, strengthening the firm’s inclusive culture, empowering the firm’s employees, and surpassing clients’ expectations with exceptional service. McGlinchey has made demonstrable progress in each of those areas in the intervening three years and continues to reference those guiding principles to steer decision-making.
In his second term, Michael plans to continue the focus on what he calls “people-driven growth”; recognize and celebrate the firm’s fiftieth anniversary; and continue formalizing the firm’s succession planning, term limits, and leadership development, to instill a culture of leadership growth amongst the firm’s members.
About his goals for continued strategic growth, Michael said, “I am less interested in ‘planting a flag’ in a new region or practice area, or in arbitrary growth to hit a certain number goal, than I am in attracting the right people who both offer the specific knowledge we want and fit well with McGlinchey’s culture. We are hiring to build a specific future version of the firm that serves our clients’ evolving needs, not for the sake of growth alone.”
A priority area for Michael’s goal of “people-driven growth” is diversifying McGlinchey’s practice areas. Recruiting efforts are focused on a two-prong strategy: adding new focus areas to McGlinchey’s overall suite of services, and building out comprehensive services in existing offices.
Michael assumed the role from Rudy Aguilar, who led the firm for 17 years and continues to practice corporate and insurance regulatory law in the Baton Rouge office.
