Congress passed the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to ensure job protection for those who needed to take leave from their employment due to serious illnesses. Most employees do not abuse this entitlement; however, there are a select few who always want to beat the system.

Member Susan Desmond (New Orleans) will present a GRC Educators Webinar, “Handling FMLA Abuse,” on June 25, 2024. Susan will review the basics of FMLA, cases where employers have handled FMLA correctly and incorrectly, employee behaviors that trigger intervention, and tips to avoid FMLA abuse.
