Homecoming: Litigators Hurley and Cot Rejoin McGlinchey, Bring 4 Colleagues
Read Time: 3 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce that, after 35 years practicing at their firm, Hurley & Cot, APLC, Timothy P. Hurley and José R. Cot will again practice in the firm’s New Orleans office. Joining them are litigators Robert K. Denny (Of Counsel) and George M. Imbraguglio, Jr. (Associate), who also practiced at Hurley and Cot, and legal assistants Susan Randazzo and Jerri Lynn McGehee. This addition comes on the heels of McGlinchey adding 50 attorneys to its roster in 2023, and as the firm celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024.

Tim and José practiced at McGlinchey in the 1980s as Associates before leaving to practice independently in 1991. Hurley and Cot focused on offering a full range of defense litigation and coverage services to corporate and individual clients around the globe, and across a multitude of industries.

Tim Hurley represents Fortune 500 and international corporations and insurers as well as third-party administrators on a national scale. In his diverse general civil liability practice, Tim represents clients from the maritime, energy, manufacturing, trucking and transportation, and construction industries, to name a few. He manages matters involving claims of personal injury, premises liability, products liability, construction defect, property damage, asbestos/toxic torts, contract disputes, and many others. As part of his onshore and offshore practice, Tim has represented exploration and production companies, drilling companies, retail facilities, oilfield product companies, refining companies, vessel owners, and offshore rig/platform operators.

To bring our work back under this roof with so many familiar faces will benefit our clients tremendously in the long-term.”
José Cot has litigated maritime and insurance matters throughout the Gulf South for 35 years. His maritime clients range from domestic to international private corporations and insurers, including those in the London insurance market. José also represents state agencies and instrumentalities, including in connection with U.S. Coast Guard and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigations and formal proceedings. His maritime work relates to personal injury and death claims, allisions and collisions, property damage claims, and natural disasters involving ports, terminals, rivers, and bridges in Louisiana, Texas, and Florida.. In his insurance coverage practice, José represents domestic and international insurers and underwriters in first-party and third-party claims, as well as coverage analysis and litigation.

Rob Denny has more than a decade of experience in defending domestic and international businesses, insureds and insurers in various industries. His practice focuses primarily on mass torts and products liability claims in the transportation and heavy equipment contexts. Rob has represented manufacturers of oil field equipment, cranes, and other machinery and products, as well as one of the world’s largest oil companies. In addition, he has represented clients in maritime personal injury and property claims for many years.
George Imbraguglio works on litigation matters across multiple industries, representing maritime vessel owners and operators, trucking carriers, exploration and refinery facilities, and others involved in transportation, energy, manufacturing, and heavy equipment. He litigates claims ranging from products liability, asbestos, and mass torts to premises liability, property damage, accidents, and personal injury. George also handles various commercial litigation matters. His ten years of experience in municipal government prior to law school afford George a unique perspective into case organization and court proceedings uncommon among defense attorneys.
