For instance, Michael Ferachi, managing member of McGlinchey Stafford, a 140-lawyer firm based in Louisiana, said he did a “talking tour.”
“[I spent] thirty minutes with every associate… what’s working well… what’s not working… how can we help you,” he said. “It was a whole lot of effort and a whole lot of time.”
Ferachi said it was “time well spent,” and he intends to do it on a regular basis, making sure he and his practice group leaders are having “intentional communication,” with others.
Ferachi acknowledged that “talking in an intentional way” takes time, but that he tells his practice group leaders they can either invest that time in proven talent or “you can spend time filling a vacancy. It’s about taking action versus reaction.”
