Law firm growing rapidly in Birmingham, boosting certain practice areas
Read Time: 1 minMcGlinchey’s growth was profiled in the Birmingham Business Journal on October 29, 2023:
McGlinchey has grown substantially across its footprint in the last year, and there are no plans to slow down anytime soon.
Chris Bottcher, managing member of McGlinchey Stafford PLLC’s Birmingham office, said the firm hired nearly 30 lawyers in the last year alone.
“Since Covid, we’ve really been working to round out our practice offerings,” Bottcher said.
“Although we’re in 17 different markets, the culture is really a mid-market culture, pretty collegial and pretty informal. We have a culture of ‘yes.’ So if you have a good idea and you want to try something, the firm’s really supportive of that, which I think is attractive to a lot of the people that have joined the firm in the last year,” he said.
“Many people are still working remotely and a lot of the office space is not being used, and so we expect to see companies downsizing their footprints, which is going to put pressure on the owners of those properties,” he said. “So we think there’s going to be an increase in litigation between owners and tenants, and maybe banks and owners. So we’re trying to get ready for that as well.”
