Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey is pleased to announce that seasoned regulatory attorney David Tallman has joined the firm’s Financial Institutions Compliance practice group. David is a Member (Partner) based in the firm’s Houston and Dallas offices.
“David brings nearly 20 years of experience in consumer regulatory compliance, data security and privacy, and bank and payment processing regulatory compliance,” said Mark S. Edelman, Chair of McGlinchey’s national Financial Institutions Compliance practice. “His background will serve our team well as we guide clients through the intricate regulatory schemes that apply to innovative financial products.”
Prior to joining McGlinchey, David was a partner at a prominent AmLaw 100 firm where he focused his practice on compliance, security, and transactional and litigation support matters. He counseled financial institutions on compliance with regulations and guidelines governing the servicing industry and state and federal consumer protection laws and regulations.
“McGlinchey’s consumer financial services practice is nationally recognized and well-regarded in the industry,” said David. “Its mid-size platform will help me serve clients with a high quality of work and accessible rate structure. I started at a similarly sized firm and moving to McGlinchey feels like coming home. It’s collaborative and personal, and it’s a good spot for my practice.”
David earned his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was selected for the prestigious Global Law Scholars Program. He was one of only fifteen students selected based on academic excellence, international law experience, and foreign language proficiency. He earned his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in French and International Studies.
David is one of three experienced financial services compliance attorneys who joined McGlinchey in August, including Katherine Romano Schnack, Of Counsel, associated with the Cleveland office, and Ben Gross in California, who joined as a Member. Keeping with that trend, McGlinchey’s Financial Institutions Compliance team has added seven new attorneys across its national footprint in 2022.
