McGlinchey Attorneys Named Super Lawyers 2023 Washington Risings Stars

Heidi Urness is the co-chair of McGlinchey’s Cannabis industry group and has a national reputation in the cannabis industry. She counsels existing and future licensees, as well as cannabis-ancillary businesses, on a wide range of topics, including business organization and financing, licensing and regulatory issues, transactions and contracts, transportation, real property, employment, taxation, and more. Recently selected to Law360’s 2023 Cannabis Editorial Advisory Board, Heidi is a leading author on CBD, hemp, and marijuana law and a regular contributor to many of the nation’s premier cannabis publications. She was recently named one of the Top 30 Cannabis Litigators You Should Know and a Top 200 Global Cannabis Attorney.
Daniel Shortt is a corporate and regulatory attorney who works extensively with entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry. He advises clients on matters related to both hemp and marijuana and frequently speaks on legal issues relating to cannabis across the country and abroad. Daniel is quoted as an authority on cannabis law in dozens of publications, including Marijuana Moment, Hemp Industry Daily, the Washington Post, and Bloomberg, to name a few. This marks Daniel’s second consecutive year being recognized as a Washington Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
