McGlinchey Names Six Attorneys Members, Three Of Counsel
Read Time: 5 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce the six attorneys who have been named Members of the firm, effective January 1, 2025. These attorneys represent three practice groups and five of the firm’s 18 offices:

- Sean Sullivan (Enterprise Litigation and Investigations, New Orleans)
- David Waxman (Corporate/ Real Estate, Cleveland)
- Chantel Wonder (Financial Services Litigation, Tampa)
The following attorneys will serve as Of Counsel beginning January 1:

Alex Green, who joined McGlinchey Of Counsel in 2022, advises and defends banks, loan servicers, automobile lenders, and other financial service providers. Beyond financial services, Alex has a wide range of commercial litigation experience, including litigating securities fraud actions, defending against copyright trolls, and navigating difficult corporate governance disputes. Alex has represented clients before federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels throughout Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, including extensive experience before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, often referred to as the “Rocket Docket.” Alex received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. He received a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame. He is recognized among The Best Lawyers in America® in Washington, DC in the field of Banking and Finance Law.
Jason Lipkin joined McGlinchey Of Counsel in 2023 from Winston & Strawn. He represents clients in financial services litigation. Jason has almost 20 years of experience representing a diverse group of clients in financial services, real estate, and commercial and insurance matters in New York and New Jersey state and federal courts. Prior to that role, Jason was a founding member at a boutique commercial litigation firm. He also spent several years at a large insurance defense firm, representing Fortune 500 companies in product liability and toxic exposure cases. Licensed in New Jersey and New York, Jason holds a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin. He proudly serves on the Executive Committee for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) and its National Walk.
Nicholas O’Conner joined McGlinchey’s Houston office as an Associate in 2020 and moved to the Tampa office when it opened in 2024. Licensed in Texas, Florida, and admitted to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Nick represents McGlinchey’s financial services clients including auto lenders, banks, and mortgage loan servicers. He works in federal and state courts in commercial litigation and financial services litigation matters, with a primary focus on automotive collateral recovery and defending consumer financial services litigation claims in lender liability actions. He has appellate experience and is a certified mediator. Nick holds a J.D. from South Texas College of Law and a B.S. in Legal Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University. He has prior experience working in sales and logistics, and prior to studying law, Nick served more than six years in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He is recognized among The Best Lawyers in America’s “Ones to Watch” in Financial Services Regulation Law.
Joining as Of Counsel in early 2024, Sean Sullivan has 15 years of experience in insurance coverage and defense. Representing clients in general liability and first-party property claims, he has a dual practice combining matters related to residential and commercial insurance coverage as well as National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) flood insurance. Sean represents private as well as government-backed insurers of flood insurance policies, which positions him to advocate for clients in any underwriting scenario. Sean also holds a certification in water damage restoration through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). Licensed in Alabama, Louisiana, and Washington, Sean earned a J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and a B.S. from Georgetown University. Sean has been involved in leadership of Louisiana’s Forum for Equality since 2012 and he most recently served as Past Chair. He also volunteers with the Pro Bono Project. He was recognized on New Orleans CityBusiness’s 2024 Leadership in Law honorees and by The Best Lawyers in America® in Insurance Law.
David Waxman joined McGlinchey in 2017 as Of Counsel. He and his partner Michael Blumenthal previously served as co-founders of Waxman Blumenthal, a boutique real estate and environmental practice in Cleveland. David’s practice focuses on advising individuals, closely-held businesses, educational and public institutions, and Fortune 100 companies on matters pertaining to real estate acquisition, development, financing and leasing, environmental compliance and insurance, and construction. He also advises marijuana businesses and related entities in navigating matters related to corporate finance, real estate and zoning, contractual issues, transportation, as well as environmental and regulatory matters. Licensed in Ohio, David is a past Chair of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Real Estate Law Section. He currently serves as Chair of the Environmental Committee of the American Bar Association Real Property Trust and Estate Section’s Land Use and Environmental Group. He received his J.D. from The University of Toledo College of Law and his B.A. from The Ohio State University.
Florida litigator Chantel Wonder joined McGlinchey as Of Counsel in 2023. She focuses on debt buyer and mortgage work, with experience in credit cards, debt collection, bankruptcy, and the wide spectrum of financial services litigation. Chantel’s practice also includes insurance defense and employment litigation, with experience in first-party property matters and third-party claims. She represents residential and commercial property managers (including homeowners association boards) as well as human resources managers and employers. Joining McGlinchey from Gordon and Rees, Chantel worked for almost a decade in-house with a national debt buyer. In this role, she gained extensive trial experience and handled a wide variety of legal matters for the company. Chantel received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and is licensed in the state of Florida. She earned her bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Stetson University. Chantel is a Past President of the Florida Creditors’ Bar Association and of the Rotary Club of Pinellas Park.
Jessica Johnson returned to McGlinchey in 2022 after initially practicing with the firm from 2018-2021. She represents clients in commercial litigation and financial services litigation matters in Ohio state and federal courts, with a primary focus on defending banks, mortgage lenders, and loan servicers in state, federal, and bankruptcy court proceedings. Jessica is admitted to practice in the state of Ohio and its federal courts, and is a member of the Ohio State and Lake County Bar Associations. She was honored among Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch (Commercial Litigation and Financial Services Regulation Law) in 2021. Jessica earned a J.D. at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. While in law school, she completed a clerkship with the city of Cleveland. Jessica holds a B.A. in Political Science and Government from Miami University and completed studies in Chinese Language and Literature at Liaoning University.
Practicing at McGlinchey since 2021, Marisa Roman’s practice includes commercial and contract disputes, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, products liability, lender liability, insurance defense, lawyers’ professional liability, professional negligence, insurance defense, and construction litigation. She represents clients nationwide in federal and state court and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine. Marisa received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia. She is a past President of the Boston University School of Law Young Alumni Council and has served on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Boston.
Thomas White joined McGlinchey as an Associate in 2021. He handles everything from complex commercial matters to financial services litigation, frequently representing banks and loan servicers in claims involving federal and state consumer protection statutes. Before joining McGlinchey, Thomas was an associate at Zabel Freeman, where he represented natural gas utilities and common carriers in eminent domain and condemnation proceedings. Prior to that, Thomas was an associate at a firm that represented property owners associations in state court litigation and federal bankruptcy cases. He has a particular knowledge of provisions in the Texas Property Code relating to foreclosure and related proceedings. Thomas holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center. He also earned a B.A. in History and a B.S. in Radio/TV/Film from the University of Texas at Austin, both with honors. He is licensed in Texas and Indiana.
