McGlinchey is proud to announce that the firm is relaunching McGlinchey PRIDE, a network for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and ally attorneys. The group’s mission is to create a home where McGlinchey’s LGBTQ+ attorneys and allies feel welcomed, affirmed, valued, and empowered.
“McGlinchey PRIDE is an opportunity for our LGBTQ+ colleagues to network with each other and bring attention to our community’s unique considerations and experiences,” said McGlinchey PRIDE Chair Andrew Albritton. “We offer this group as a resource for our team to learn from each other in order to effect change for the good of our careers, our industry, and our communities.”
“An inclusive culture is one of the key tenets of our #McGlincheyForward initiative, and we are excited to relaunch this group to ensure every member of the McGlinchey family knows that the firm supports them,” said Michael Ferachi, McGlinchey’s Managing Member and McGlinchey PRIDE member.
McGlinchey PRIDE will work with the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee to champion initiatives and programs that enhance diversity within the firm. The DEI Committee comprises attorneys and professionals across the firm’s national footprint and oversees efforts to recruit and retain diverse lawyers and professional staff. The Committee holds monthly firm-wide meetings that are open to all lawyers for discussion of diverse topics and issues. The Committee also works closely with Recruitment and Associate committees to enhance both the recruitment and retention of diverse lawyers.
“We are excited to relaunch this important resource for our LGBTQ+ attorneys and allies,” said Eliska Plunkett, McGlinchey’s Director of Human Resources and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. “Creating spaces for our team to share their unique perspectives and work toward a more equitable environment is a key element of our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.”
In recent years, the firm has relaunched it women’s initiative, Uplift, and launched the Ministry of Fun and Wellness Works employee initiatives. McGlinchey is also currently participating in the second iteration of the Midsize Mansfield Rule, which aims to boost diversity in small midsize law firms through hiring, promotion, and leadership.
