Unpacking the Future: What You and Your Clients Need to Know About Transacting in Digital Assets and Electronic Commerce

It includes not only the currently popular NFTs, but also smart contracts, electronic money, electronic “promissory notes,” electronic chattel paper, electronic documents of title, and electronic receivables.

This presentation will broadly discuss the legal framework for transactions in digital assets, including sales and secured transactions. It will explore the current legal framework for such transactions as well as some upcoming changes to the Uniform Commercial Code dealing with transactions in such assets, as well as an examination of the marketplace for digital assets, including the current marketplace and some insights into the future marketplace.
