Workers Feeling PWFA’s Impact After 1st Year In Effect

Of Counsel Melissa Losch was interviewed by LAW360’s Employment Authority on June 26, 2024, for an article about the impacts of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA).

Melissa Losch, who is of counsel at McGlinchey Stafford PLLC and based in New Orleans, said it’s been “smooth sailing” from her vantage point.

“It’s an unusual case when it gets to the point that they can’t come to some agreement,” she said.

After a flurry of initial questions about the statute, the anxiety died down, Losch added. Now, she doesn’t receive many PWFA-related calls.

“Other than the initial calls about figuring out to handle this, we haven’t had anybody calling to say they’ve had a request they can’t accommodate, or don’t want to accommodate,” Losch said.
