Timothy Byrd represents clients in a wide range of banking, business, and complex commercial disputes from pre-litigation through appeals along with advising lenders and banks involved in business bankruptcy, complex consumer cases, and workouts throughout the country. He has extensive experience in every phase of litigation, from the development of a case strategy based on the client’s objectives, through discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeals.
A versatile and effective litigator, Timothy represents clients in industries including finance, energy, aviation, real estate, construction, insurance, and technology. He counsels lenders and equipment lessors in bankruptcy proceedings and collateral recovery and handles disputes related to everything from contracts to payments in the construction context.
Timothy has particular knowledge of the considerations and challenges lenders, banks, and credit unions face in the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights context. He also has a depth of experience representing mortgage servicers and financial institutions in consumer financial services actions under federal and state law. Timothy has litigated numerous insurance coverage disputes and issued coverage opinions regarding commercial insurance policies.
